Amistad

This was actually difficult to watch. Not because it was bad like Dark City. Not because it was gross like Saw III. And yet, it was still difficult to watch. It is difficult to watch because it may be the low point of human history. Great performances by the entire cast, most notably the very first American film in the blossoming career of Djimon Hounsou who some of you might know from Gladiator, and some of you might know from ..... Never Back Down. The film is apparently horribly inaccurate and most of it may not have happened, but enough of it did happen that it is important and everyone should watch it. Anthony Hopkins is awesome as a crazy old guy, Morgan Freeman is... fairly invisible and Matt McCounghantyahg? ahhhh, who the f*#@ cares how you pronounce pretty boys name, is predictably excited to help out yet as he can. His performance is overly reminiscent of A Time To Kill but to heck with it, it's a good performance.
Is this a "great" movie, no. But it is an important movie. I would give it 2 donairs but would still say that every single person on the entire planet needs to watch this film.
