A) Will Smith is brilliant. He plays the character perfectly and you really feel intensely for him. There are a few magical moments in this film and most of them involve his eyes, which really tell the story.
B) Charlize Theron is pretty.
C) Justin Bateman needs to be in every movie. I'm not convinced of his ability to play different characters but I don't care because I love this one.
The movie moves along at the right pace with a good balance of humour and wit. Decent origin story. A very moving tale of what would happen if anyone normal had super powers.
I think this might be one of the best super heroes I have seen in a long time. Stay all the way through the first little credits section.

Ok listen I am volunteering myself as the Siskel to your Ebert...and yes I know Siskel is dead but Roeper is a fag and I have my suspicions about Ebert's involvement in Siskel's death. Clearly Ebert has always been jealous and upset about the ordering of their names in the show title. IRREGUARDLESS...allowing you to do this blog without being monitored or held accountable will undoubtedly result in asinine comments such as "Dude..I'm speechless...like I don't know what to say...Little Miss Sunshine is the greatest piece of cinematic art I have ever seen in my entire life...by far the greatest movie of all time..." So as Samuel L. Jackson said to Bruce Willis in the movie "Unbreakable" "YOU NEED ME".....and so it begins.....
Hancock was a pretty kickass movie I must say. Clearly the best part of the movie was Charlize Theron who until this movie was removed from million's of men's spankbanks across the world because of her recent movie selections that had serious roles such as "Monster" "North Country" and "In the Valley of Elah". Let me tell you though as a sex symbol she is back on big screen and back in my day dreams ; ) (Can;t wait to see you in the Brazilian Job!!!)
Jason Bateman I fear will never break out as the leading man that an entire film is based around I know he was amazing in Arrested Development but that show didn't even get popular till they axed it. As Mike mentioned the supporting one dimensional character that he does play is both hilarious and kind deep. He will more then likely continue his career in this fashion but if you saw Starchky and Hutch you'll understand that that's fine with us.
Will Smith...nuff said...but seriously will this guy ever make a July 4th movie that sucks? I'm gonna go with NO. His Douche Baggish attitude in the first half of the movie makes you wish you could just hang around him for a while in hopes that he'd one day be your friend. Then when the movie takes a serious turn the classic Will Smith emotion comes through bringing back memories of the episode of the Fresh Prince where his real dad shows up then bails and uncle Phil has to console the devastated Smith...(oh god hold it together Neil)
This movie was pretty sick I think the big guy might have jumped the gun in claiming it's the best superhero movie of all time...if it was the best superhero movie of all time then it is now also known as the movie to hold the title of best superhero movie of all for the shortest amount of time because The Dark Knight CLEARLY holds that title now. I'm unclear on the whole donair rating system but lets just say I would eat till I puked.
